Facilities and equipment available to external academics
Here we introduce some of the facilities and equipment available to external personnel for joint research.
Kyoto UniversityInternational Science Innovation Building
As the center for industry-government-academia partnership, the building contains office rooms and laboratories for rent, as well as the Venture Incubation Center for supporting venture businesses. The 273-capacity Symposium Hall and conference rooms can be used for various meetings, lectures, symposiums, ceremonies, and as a venue for exchanging information between government, industry, and academia.
Kyoto UniversityCenter for the Promotion of Interdisciplinary Education and Research
The Nanotechnology Hub of the Center for the Promotion of Interdisciplinary Education and Research operates integrally as an open hub with three centers; Yoshida and Katsura campuses that have microfabricated devices, and Uji Campus that has electron microscopes for microstructural analysis, to support government-industry-academia personnel involved in the research and development of nanotechnology in both microfabrication and microstructural analysis. The organization representing the microfabrication platform of the Nanotechnology Platform Business also belongs to the unit systematically, but it operates independently from the Nanotechnology Hub.
